Giving birth at home is a safe and positive option for most women; feeling comfortable and secure in a familiar environment during labour can help women to birth more efficiently, leading to a more satisfying birth experience for mums and babies. I am extremely experienced in supporting women who choose to birth at home, and will provide you with evidence-based information enabling you to make the best choices for you and your baby. When supporting home birth, I work in partnership with a second midwife who will usually arrive around the time you are getting ready to give birth (i.e. towards the end of the first stage of labour). This means that when your baby arrives, there will be two midwives available to look after you both.

Home birth isn’t for everybody, if there are clinical indications that make it a good idea for you to birth in hospital, or if you would just feel more comfortable there, I can still look after you. Click here to find out about the support I can offer for a hospital birth >>
